UNHCR CAMP III

Vision

To create a safe, inclusive, and empowering learning environment for vulnerable children and youth in Kakuma Refugee Camp, where education becomes a tool for healing, growth, and long-term transformation.

SACVI envisions classrooms that nurture not only academic excellence but also creativity, environmental awareness, emotional resilience, and leadership, supporting a future where no child is left behind due to displacement or poverty.

Mission

To build well-equipped, sustainable classrooms in Kakuma that:

Provide access to quality after-school education for children and youth.

Integrate peacebuilding, arts, permaculture, and psychosocial support into the curriculum.

Support refugee and host community teachers through training and empowerment.

Reflect SACVI’s core mission to educate, empower, and restore dignity among vulnerable individuals.

SACVI’s Core Mission and Objectives

((as applied to this project)

Education: Promote access to holistic education for vulnerable and displaced populations.

Environmental Stewardship: Incorporate permaculture and environmental sustainability in all physical structures and learning content.

Counseling & Peacebuilding: Offer trauma-informed, inclusive learning spaces with integrated counseling and peace education.

Art & Expression: Use arts and storytelling as healing tools for children affected by conflict and displacement.

Community Empowerment: Engage parents, youth, and teachers from the refugee and host communities in co-designing and sustaining the learning spaces.

CONCLUSION

In Kakuma, every child carries a story of loss—but also a spark of hope. By building classrooms, we are not just constructing walls and roofs—we are creating sanctuaries where children can dream, learn, and heal. SACVI believes that education is the most powerful force to break the cycle of trauma and poverty. With your partnership, we can offer more than lessons—we can offer belonging, confidence, and a future.

This is more than a project. It is a promise to a generation that their lives matter, their voices count, and their dreams are worth investing in. Together, let’s turn displacement into dignity, and forgotten spaces into foundations for peace.
