ECOWAS is a trade agreement with currently 11 member states in West Africa.

All member states together cover an area of 2.09 million km² and have a population of around 353.66 million. This represents 1.39% of the world’s habitable area and 4.4% of the world’s population. With an annual economic output of 596.42 billion US dollars, they account for around 0.56% of the global economy. The UEMOA is a trade agreement with currently eight member states in West Africa.
Together, the member states cover an area of 3.51 million km² and have a population of around 147.77 million. This represents 2.3% of the world’s habitable area and 1.83% of the world’s population. With an annual economic output of 198.43 billion US dollars, they account for around 0.19% of the global economy. The value of all goods exported by these eight countries was most recently 43.31 billion US dollars per year.
