How André found his calling: he came from eastern Congo (which mainly comprises the provinces of North Kivu and South Kivu, and in a broader sense also Maniema). Unfortunately, border disputes between Rwanda and Burundi repeatedly lead to serious conflicts, with the civilian population bearing the brunt of the suffering and no end to the war in sight. Like so many others, he fled to Kenya and ended up in UNHCR Camp III Kakuma. There, he is now rebuilding his life with other migrants and trying to build a future for himself through SACVI.
