Stories from Africa
One of our NADEUM members comes from the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and had to flee for ethnic and political reasons, however, also because of the mineral resources in the easternmost part of this huge country.
Today he lives in Kakuma Camp 3 in northern Kenya. Bone dry. Due to climate change, torrential rains can occur here from time to time. Like in 2024. Before and after, it can be up to 40 degrees Celsius and more. Honestly, I wonder how people can stand it. Now André has founded a CBO in this UNHCR camp and hopes that the Kenyan government will grant him a CBO licence (certificate). What does he do? He teaches children up to the age of fifteen. We talked about how NADEUM can help him. We were on the right track. But we noticed that he recalled some fairy tales or legends from his culture.
We will now put these online here. We will try to put old fairy tales with pictures or drawings by children online here.
We would be very happy if you would make a donation to NADEUM. Then we can provide the children with learning materials locally so that they can learn better in KAKUMA CAMP3.
