1. Project description
A learning course for young people and adults in Kakuma Camp, based on the principles of Jack Canfield’s ‘12 Laws of Success’. The aim is to promote motivation, personal responsibility and future orientation.
- Course duration: 6 months
- Daily structure: 1 hour in the morning, 1 hour in the afternoon
- Frequency: Monday to Friday (5x/week)
- Participation fee: 20 KES per participant/day
- Maximum number of participants: 20 people per unit
2. Target group
- Teenagers (aged 14 and above) & young adults
- People interested in personal development and personal responsibility
- Community members in the camp who are looking for future prospects
3. Goals of the programme
- Teaching life skills
- Promoting self-confidence and discipline
- Building an active, self-confident community
4. Structure & content
The 12 laws are covered in modules over 6 months:
- Months 1–2: Laws 1–4
- Month 3–4: Laws 5–8
- Month 5–6: Laws 9–12
Method: Interactive learning, group work, reflection, practical tasks
Location: School classroom, community centre or simple learning space with seating

7. Funding model

- CBO can offer ongoing courses
