📘 Project title:

‘Light Your Fire’ – Personal empowerment through the 12 Laws of Success

🌍 Project location:

Kakuma Refugee Camp, Turkana County, Kenya

🎯 Project goal:

Through a six-month learning course based on Jack Canfield’s 12 Laws of Success, teenagers and young adults in Kakuma Camp will be empowered to take responsibility for their lives, set goals and act with motivation.

🧑‍🎓 Target group:

  • Teenagers & young adults (aged 14 and above)
  • Participants from Kakuma Camp
  • Max. 20 participants per lesson

📚 Course format:

  • Duration: 6 months (Monday–Friday)
  • Lessons: 1 hour in the morning + 1 hour in the afternoon
  • Fee: max. 20 KES per person/day
  • Contents: The 12 laws (including responsibility, vision, action, trust, adaptation)

📈 Expected impact:

  • Personal development & life skills
  • Motivation, self-confidence and discipline
  • Foundation for further learning and community engagement

💰 Financial requirements:

  • Total cost for 6 months: approx. 132,000 KES (approx. 1,000 USD)
  • Included: Room costs, fees, learning materials, snacks, printing costs
  • Contribution by participants: up to 480,000 KES (own contribution)

🤝 Support requested for:

  • Start-up funding for the first course
  • Equipment (materials, books, printing costs)
  • Establishment of sustainable structures (peer coaches, additional groups)
